Welcome to the National Museum of Arms and Armour.

A fun and free place to visit in Leeds, West Yorkshire. 

Explore thousands of objects from the past to the present day. These include Japanese samurai armour and swords, famous movie props, the armours of Henry VIII, and even a huge armour for an Indian war elephant.

We have compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) to help you plan your visit.

Advance booking online is recommended to guarantee entry, particularly at weekends and during the school holidays when we can get busy.

Book Tickets for 2 September 2025 to 24 October 2025

You don't need to book if you just want to drop in. We are quieter during the week and after 2pm.

Young people aged 15 and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

Roman Tales

This October half term we’ll be sharing tales from Roman and gladiatorial life.

There will be live-action performances, plus craft activities and an Animals of the Armouries museum trail.

All of this activity is free. You can book your entry tickets now. You can also add tickets to the live action performances when you book your tickets, subject to availability. Craft and trail activities do not require pre booking.

Entry tickets include entry to the Museum between 10am to 5pm.
