Forgotten India at 80: The stories you don't know
Believe in Me CIC, in partnership with the Royal Armouries, invites you to explore the often-overlooked stories of India and the Commonwealth, from the World Wars to the present day.
Part of the national Heritage Open Days festival.
Forgotten stories
This free family fun day features talks, activities, storytelling and community exhibitions.
Activities will run from 11am to 4:30pm
Discover the stories of Indian princesses who supported the war effort, Indian soldiers who served, and the experiences of children during wartime.
Learn how people from across the Commonwealth contributed during the wars and how, in the years that followed, many South Asian families helped shape the communities of Leeds.
Explore the museum, hear inspiring community stories, and share your own at this drop-in event as we celebrate our shared heritage.

The museum is open from 10am to 5pm.
