Trench warfare

Join Your Country's Army!
First World War

Moved by the powerful legacy of the War To End All Wars, your students will discover how the kit, equipment and weaponry of the First World War soldier created and was influenced by industrial-scale siege warfare.

Workshop content

Students will explore our collection of original artefacts to understand the similarities and differences between the British and German soldier.

Students will re-live the experience of local recruits as they are put through their paces by the fearsome Corporal Briggs in an interactive, hands-on military drill session.

Finish the day with a bang via a live gun fire demonstration over the Leeds canal – subject to staff availability; please enquire upon booking.
