Trench warfare

COVID-Safe
First World War
FREE for November and December

This on-site workshop has been altered to become as COVID-safe as possible for your pupils, staff and Royal Armouries staff. However, this does not mean all the fun and engagement has disappeared!

Please contact the Education Team to see what control measures we have put in place and discuss any questions you may have.

Moved by the powerful legacy of the War To End All Wars, your students will discover how the kit, equipment and weaponry of the First World War soldier created and was influenced by industrial-scale siege warfare.

Workshop content

Students will explore what it was like to treat the wounded during one of the most intense conflicts in modern history.

Students will re-live the experience of local recruits as they are put through their paces by the fearsome Corporal Gibbs in an interactive, hands-on military drill session.

Finish the day with a bang via a live gun fire demonstration over the Leeds canal – subject to staff availability; please enquire upon booking.
