Collection Management

We care for and manage the United Kingdom's national collection of arms and armour. Our collection consists of some 70,000 examples of arms, armour, and artillery dating from antiquity to the present day. Our archives contain nearly 500,000 documents, files, bound volumes, photographs, films and videos. The main holdings are located at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds. Our library collection, housed across our three locations, is one of the largest arms and armour reference libraries in the world.
