Collection Conservation

Woman carefully conserves the textile covering on a Tudor period armoured jacket

The care of our collection is a fundamental responsibility.

Not only is its preservation a duty to future generations but it enables the presentation, interpretation and research of the collection.

Each of our conservators has a different specialist area that ensures a wide range of care for the collection.

The main conservation laboratory is at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds but we also have conservation teams at the Tower of London and Fort Nelson.
