Exhibitions Gallery

The former Hunting Gallery, is currently closed for refurbishment. It will reopen in late-2023 as a dedicated temporary exhibition space with an exciting new exhibition.

Since the museum in Leeds opened in 1996 there have been 5 permanent galleries, and at first this presented no issues. However, as time passed our visitors voiced their concerns that nothing changes, so why should they visit again?

There have always been temporary exhibitions in the museum, but not having a dedicated space restricted their size and format.

A large, dedicated exhibitions gallery is an exciting development, one which makes a programme of temporary exhibitions possible and changing displays for the visitor. The temporary exhibition programme will feature both internally curated, and externally sourced exhibitions that will entertain and challenge our visitors.
