Charge up to the Fort for spooktacular half-term fun.

There will be a free, 'Creepy Codebreaker' museum trail to do every day from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November, plus lots of have-a-go Halloween activities from Monday to Friday.

Please pre-book your free tickets to guarantee your visit as this event does sell out.

Mystery Monster Hunt | Daily

Mr Grimm, the Fort's caretaker has reported a strange creature creeping about the museum in the dead of night. Can you help discover what the mystery monster is?

Pick up your free Creepy Codebreaker trail in the Visitor Centre and have fun exploring the Fort.

This free activity is available from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November.
Suitable for ages 6 to 10, though younger children will also be able to join in with adult help.

Halloween Activities | Monday - Friday

These free drop-in activities are only available on Monday 26 to Friday 30 October (not weekends).

All the activities are suitable for ages 3+. Adult supervision is required at all times.

  • Ghoulish Game Zone - Have a go at some gruesome games.
  • Creepy Creation Station - Come and get crafty!
  • The Boo-tique - Choose your creepy costume and get into character.
  • The Haunted Hideout - Build a den for a witch, vampire or werewolf.
  • Witch's Workshop - Brew some spell-binding potions, spot the witch's crystal ball and cat, plus don a cape and hat for a spooky snap.
  • Pumpkin Patch Party - Come and have a bop with your Mummy to some spooktacular tunes! Can you do the Monster Mash? It’s bound to be a Thriller!

Fort Nelson is open daily 10am to 5pm.

Book a free ticket for all the adults and children (aged 3+) in your party.
You can choose your arrival time slot on the booking page 10am to 11am, 11am to 12pm, 12pm to 1pm, 1pm to 2pm, 2pm to 3pm, 3pm to 4pm.

Parking: £3 per vehicle payable in reception on arrival.
