Second World War artillery firing, enveloped in smoke

Join us for another FREE big bang weekend!

This year we’re commemorating the 80th anniversaries of VE and VJ Day.

Gunfirings

Get ready for two days full of noise, flames and smoke as a range of artillery from the Second World War, including anti-tank guns, field artillery and anti-aircraft guns, are fired.

This is a free event. Please pre-book an arrival time and feel free to stay and make a day of it.

There will be talks about the guns being fired, and the drills employed, plus the history of Fort Nelson and its role in the Second World War. There'll also be static displays and object-handling opportunities.

There'll even be some have-a-go activities, a junior assault course, and a museum trail for our younger visitors.

Book Your Tickets

This event is always fully booked so please pre-book your tickets to guarantee your visit.

This is a free event. Car parking is £3 and can be paid for on arrival.
