Our superbly restored Victorian fort offers a memorable setting for celebrations of all kinds, from milestone birthdays and anniversaries to retirement parties and other special occasions. With original Victorian features, private courtyards, panoramic views and unique photo opportunities, Fort Nelson offers something very different from a traditional party venue.

From your initial enquiry through to the event itself, our experienced team will help ensure everything runs smoothly.

A unique setting for your celebration

Your party takes place in The Redan, the elegant and private former Officers’ Mess. The space can accommodate:

• Up to 80 guests for a reception with a finger buffet
• Up to 60 guests for a sit-down meal

There is also ample free on-site parking for your guests.

Our venue hire includes:

• An experienced event manager to help with your arrangements
• Staff on the day or evening of your event
• Exclusive use of The Redan
• Free parking for your guests

This means you can enjoy your celebration while our team takes care of the practical details.

Party hire options

We offer flexible daytime and evening hire options:

Evening party 
Hire the venue for an evening celebration, with the bar open until 11pm and the venue hire ending at 11:30pm.

Daytime party 
Hire the venue from 9am to 5pm for birthdays, anniversaries and other daytime occasions.

Four-hour daytime hire
Ideal for smaller gatherings and celebrations, available between 9am to 5pm.

Catering

We offer a range of catering options to suit your celebration, including finger buffets and sit-down meals.

Our menus are prepared on site, and our team can discuss the options available for your event, including catering requirements and dietary needs.
