Our guided tours offer an engaging way to explore the Fort and its collections, from a 15th-century Turkish bombard cannon to the infamous ‘Big Babylon’ Iraqi supergun.

Our event spaces
Fort Nelson offers four distinctive spaces, each with its own character and period features. Your venue hire includes access to all four, allowing you to use the different spaces throughout the day for meetings, presentations, refreshments, breakout sessions or informal activities.
The Officers’ Mess
Steeped in history and furnished with unique heritage pieces, the Officers’ Mess provides an impressive setting for welcome drinks, gatherings and other elements of your event.
The Ante Room
Restored to its full Victorian splendour, the Ante Room features magnificent views of the Solent and the Isle of Wight from its large picture window.
The Point of the Redan
Originally the officers’ billiard room, this versatile space can be adapted for a range of activities. Its flexible layout makes it suitable for meetings, presentations and group activities, with access to the Palmerston Suite for breakout groups or refreshments.
