Rod Taylor joined the Royal Armouries as Chief Operating Officer in February 2014.

He studied Human Resources Management at Huddersfield University and joined the Science Museum Group in 2001 in an HR management role. Having progressed through a series of increasingly broader roles, Rod was appointed Operations Director with responsibilities across the National Media Museum, Bradford and the National Railway Museum in York.

Following a period serving in various Exec Director and non-Exec roles within the social care sector, Rod was appointed in 2009 as Director of Operations at The Hepworth Wakefield and worked to form the charitable trust and launch The Hepworth Wakefield, progressing to Deputy Director two years later. During his five years at The Hepworth Wakefield, the gallery achieved international and critical acclaim and won several prestigious awards.

Rod is a Trustee at The Horniman Museum and Gardens in South London and a non-Executive Director of Horniman Museum Enterprises.
