Enjoy breakfast, lunch, drinks or a quick snack, with indoor seating and an outdoor terrace overlooking Leeds Dock. Located on the ground floor, The Masters café is open to everyone.

Entering the café before the museum opens

The café opens at 8am, two hours before the museum galleries open at 10am.

Before 10am, enter through the side entrance overlooking Leeds Dock. From the car park or Armouries Square, turn left before the main museum entrance and follow the path between the museum and Leeds Dock.

You do not need to be visiting the museum to use the café. The side entrance provides step-free access to the café, toilets and accessible toilet from 8am.

What we serve

The Masters café offers breakfasts, sandwiches, light lunches, hot meals, children’s meals, cakes, snacks and drinks.

Breakfast

Choose from pastries, breakfast sandwiches, crumpets and cooked dishes, including vegetarian and plant-based choices.

Sandwiches and light meals

The selection includes filled rolls, baguettes, wraps, paninis, salads, sausage rolls and quiche.

Most sandwiches and light meals: £4.50–£8.25

Hot meals

The menu includes dishes such as pies, burgers, jacket potatoes and pizza, with vegetarian and plant-based choices available.

Most hot meals: £8.50–£12.50

Children’s meals

Smaller meals include choices such as sausage, chips and beans, chicken tenders and pasta.

Children’s meals: approximately £4.95

Cakes, snacks and drinks

A changing selection of cakes, pastries and other treats is available from the counter. Hot and cold drinks include tea, coffee, hot chocolate, bottled water, soft drinks and children’s drinks.

The Masters café is on the ground floor, with step-free access through the main museum entrance and the side entrance overlooking Leeds Dock.

  • Wheelchair-accessible seating is available.
  • An accessible toilet is located at the rear of the café.
  • Other visitor toilets are located on the first, second and fourth floors.
  • A Changing Places toilet is available on the ground floor. Access is by RADAR key, which is available from Reception after 10am.
  • Assistance dogs are welcome.
  • Free tap water is available on request.

Bringing your own food

Food and drink cannot be consumed in the museum galleries.

If you bring a packed lunch, you can use the picnic area on the fourth floor of the museum or the outdoor picnic tables. The picnic area has toilets and an accessible toilet.

Other food and drink nearby

The Masters café can be busy at peak times. Other cafés, restaurants and a convenience store are located nearby at Leeds Dock.
