Paul Wilcock
Reverend Dr Paul Wilcock is the former Director of the Arms and Armour Research Institute at the University of Huddersfield.
Paul’s particular area of research and publication, focuses on European edged weapons of the 18th and 19th centuries specialising in French military swords upon which topic he is currently preparing a book.
He has published widely including the publication of what may have been Napoleon Bonaparte’s first sword, and a survey of the Armoury of His Grace the Duke of Buccleuch and Queensberry, both in the Royal Armouries journal, Arms and Armour.
Prior to his retirement Paul was Director of the Arms and Armour Research Institute at the University of Huddersfield which undertook research into a range of arms related academic fields and he continues to support a number of related PhD projects.
