International Jousting Tournament

Three knights on horseback carrying Italian, French and British flags

Royal Armouries are delighted to be able to bring live-action jousting to the heart of Yorkshire this Easter bank holiday weekend.

Teams from the United Kingdom, France and Italy will compete for honour and trophies in this spectacular live sporting event from medieval times.

Event Info

From Friday 29 March to Monday 1 April the museum’s impressive jousting arena will resound to the cheers of crowds and the clash of lances on armour, as knights battle it out in an authentic medieval jousting tournament.

The museum opens at 10am and there are 2 tournament shows per day starting at 11am and 2pm, featuring knights and horses, plus plenty of pomp and pageantry.

There will also be a full programme of events and activities in and around the museum, including jesters, minstrels, blacksmiths, have-a-go pool-noodle jousting and the chance to try some medieval-style food.

Please read the Tournament FAQs.
