Come and get into the festive spirit at Fort Nelson as a cast of Victorian characters bring the Fort to life. There’ll also be a Christmas market, and a fun trail to keep our younger visitors entertained.
Christmas in a military establishment is a time for good food, good comrades and, most importantly, good entertainment! Join the men of the garrison and their wives, who will be stationed throughout the museum’s galleries, and find out how they plan to celebrate the festive season. Enjoy their seasonal stories, and don’t forget to visit the kitchen, where you might be lucky enough to get a warm mince pie from the cook.
There will be over 20 stalls selling a wide variety of unusual gifts and treats, including jewellery, art, photographs, embroidery crafts, home décor, greetings cards, soap, bags, purses, fashion and gin. Come and support our local makers and crafts people and cross those last-minute gifts off your shopping list.
