International Jousting Tournament

As well as the two spectacular tournament shows at 11:00 and 14:00 there’s a packed programme of medieval-themed combat displays, dramatic performances, crafts and have-a-go activities to entertain the whole family – for free – so why not make a day of it.

Royal Armouries are delighted to be able to bring live-action jousting to the heart of Yorkshire this Easter bank holiday weekend.

From Friday 7 – Monday 10 April the museum’s impressive jousting arena in Leeds will resound to the cheers of crowds and the clash of lances on armour, as knights battle it out in an authentic medieval tournament. The twice-daily shows will feature knights and horses, plus plenty of pomp and pageantry.

It promises to be spectacular entertainment for all the family.

Make a day of it

Your jousting tournament ticket includes entry to the national museum of arms and armour, which opens at 10:00. There will be performances and activities to keep everyone entertained throughout the day. With a lovely dockside setting and plenty of cafes and picnic areas in the museum and around Leeds Dock, there’s lots to enjoy on a day out at the Royal Armouries. The museum closes at 17:00.

There will be 2 shows each day at 11:00 and 14:00. Shows last approximately 45 minutes.

Tickets

There is a choice of three seating areas and ticket prices are per person. Everyone over the age of 3 requires a ticket. Tournament tickets also include entrance to the museum.

Balcony – £20

Get the best view in the arena on a raised covered platform directly above the action. Only 15 tickets are available per show.
The balcony is accessed by a steep flight of concrete stairs with a handrail.

Silver – £10

A great view of the central area where the knights clash. On these standard seats, you will get a great view of the whole tiltyard. Tiered concrete steps with wooden seating.

Red – £5

Still a great view of the action but these seats are slightly further away from the central tilt rail. You will get to see the knights preparing to make their advance and see the run-up up close.
Tiered plastic seats next to the standard silver seating.

Wheelchair users – £10

There are 4 spaces available at each show for wheelchair / motorised scooter users. A space for the wheelchair plus one complimentary companion seat will be reserved.

Carers – Free

We offer free tickets to carers when accompanied by their service user (full price ticket required). Please email our booking team to discuss your requirements bookings@armouries.org.uk
