We want every pupil to be able to access our learning programme so please let us know of any particular needs you have when booking so we can best support your visit.

Workshops are available Tuesday-Fridays during Leeds term time. 

Self-Directed Visits

Explore our national collection of arms and armour with a free self-directed visit. 

With over 6,000 objects on display, our galleries are the perfect way to bring your curriculum to life. From the armours of Henry VIII to the weapons of the First World War, learn how arms and armour have shaped human society, art, and culture over time.

Daily live shows

Our daily programme of live interpretation shows bring historic arms and armour to life. These included: 

  • Combat demonstrations
  • Gallery tours
  • Storytelling

Seating for shows is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Risk assessments

Use the museum's Generic Risk Assessment to help you create your own. Risk assessments for workshops will be supplied to you upon booking. 

Teachers are welcome to carry out a self-directed pre-visit check to the museum to familiarise themselves with our galleries and the layout of the building. This is free and does not require pre-booking. However, if you wish to speak to a member of the learning team as part of this visit,  please get in touch and we will do our best to arrange this for you.
