A Christmas Wish will take visitors on a magical journey to visit 12 specially themed installations around the Victorian fort – and admission is free.
Younger visitors can train to be an elf and get hands-on with games and workshop tasks like sorting presents, preparing reindeer food, plus lots of other magical activities.
A free activity booklet, full of puzzles and poems will keep everyone entertained on the trail.
A Christmas Wish will run from Saturday 23 November to Sunday 5 January, Tuesdays to Sundays, 10am to 4pm, during term time and open on Mondays in the school holidays.
There will be six special early evening sessions on Thursdays and Fridays in the run up to Christmas when the Fort will stay open until 6.30pm.
The Victorian fort will be transformed with festive decorations including Christmas trees, wreaths and decorations round every corner.
The Christmas Wish experience is for everyone, young and old, especially the young at heart.
Visitors will need to book their free tickets in advance at www.royalarmouries.org to guarantee their visit, as there is limited capacity on site.
Elizabeth Puddick, Public Engagement Manager, said: “We’re excited to welcome visitors to a new festive experience at Fort Nelson this Christmas season. A Christmas Wish will be a wonderful day out for all ages to enjoy - and it’s free.
“The Fort will be transformed into a place of magic and wonder, so come and visit but remember to book your ticket in advance as we have limited capacity on site.”
