RA Fencing Club

Ever wondered what it would be like to have a go at fencing? Maybe we can unearth a future world champion!

Fencing is one of the oldest combat sports and requires dexterity, skill and speed. Through the use of Foil, Epée or Sabre, fencing not only develops good co-ordination, balance and flexibility, but it is also a great way of keeping fit for all ages and abilities.

Coaching is provided by Roy Elvin of the British Fencing Association. All equipment and protective clothing will be provided.

Times

The club meets at the museum every Friday.

Simple ideas are best

The Jennings rifle, the Winchester 73 rifle, the Maxim machine gun, and the Luger pistol all use the same basic toggle mechanism to lock the breech, and work in the same way as a knee or elbow joint.
