Farewell to Arms? has been created in conjunction with The Peace Museum, Bradford.
The display explores the positive changes that have been – and are still being – made by individuals, groups and whole nations that choose to replace conflict with peace.
Highlights
‘Chair’ is a sculpture by Kester (Christavao Estevao Canhavato) from guns taken out of circulation at the end of the civil war in Mozambique. Surrendered guns were exchanged for useful items like bicycles and sewing machines.
Body armour from The Halo Trust designed to reduce the chance of injury from mines. This is of the type worn by Diana, Princess of Wales, when she toured areas of Angola being de-mined in 1997.
