Professor Anne Curry
Anne Curry is Professor of Medieval History and Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Southampton. She is passionate about historical research and is particularly committed to developing young scholars’ careers.
Anne was President of the Historical Association (2008–11) and a Vice President of the Royal Historical Society (2006–9). She was Deputy Chair of the Research Excellence Framework 2014 History sub-panel, and Chair of the Agincourt 600 Trustees, being heavily involved in the UK and France in the commemoration of the 600th anniversary of the battle in 2015. She was historical advisor for the Royal Armouries Agincourt Exhibition in the Tower of London and co-edited the catalogue with Dr Malcolm Mercer.
Anne has presented many academic papers in the UK, Europe and USA and has published over 80 articles as well as 16 books. Titles include: The Hundred Years War; The Battle of Agincourt: Sources and Interpretations; Essential Histories – The Hundred Years War; Agincourt. A New History; The Parliament Rolls of Medieval England volumes X, XI and XII; Bosworth: a Battlefield Rediscovered; The Soldier in Later Medieval England; Great Battles: Agincourt; the Agincourt Companion; and Henry V (Penguin Monarchs).
Anne Curry became a Trustee of the Armouries in March 2014.
