Learn historic pike and musket drills
English Civil Wars

Find out how the technology and tactics of the 17th century defined military thinking even up to the modern day.

In the first session, your students will explore the handling collection of weaponry and armour to understand the key roles of cavalry and foot soldiers. In the second session, your students will be put through their paces as they learn and practice historic pike and musket drills.

The world’s most extensive collection of English Civil War arms and armour – the Littlecote Collection – can be viewed in the War Gallery.
