Portsdown Artillery Volunteers

Seven men in Victorian military uniform manning a large cannon on the Fort's ramparts

Step back in time and discover what life was like in a Victorian garrison.

The Portsdown Artillery Volunteers (PAV) are the uniformed section of the Palmerston Forts Society. They dress as the 2nd Hampshire Volunteer Artillery from the 1880s and usually carry out the authentic Victorian gun drills at Fort Nelson.

Between 10am and 3pm

Dates for 2024 to be confirmed.
