Notorious Navvies

NOTORIOUS NAVVIES

February Half Term
Monday 20 – Friday 24 February
Come and find out about the people who built Fort Nelson – the navvies. There’ll be tonnes of fun for the kids with ‘navvy challenges’ and traditional Victorian crafts, plus you can find out all about the work of Florence Nightingale.

JUNIOR NAVVY CHALLENGE

Teams of young navvies will explore the Fort with our very own ‘19th-century navvy’ Bill, who will show them some of the incredible construction features of Fort Nelson. Then the hard work begins and the apprentices will have a go at wheelbarrow races, constructing keystone arches and loads more. But will they earn their pay?
