A rollicking good evening of gun-firings, sea shanties, tasty vittles and tots of rum.

Fort Nelson is the perfect venue for an evening of entertainment to celebrate Lord Nelson’s famous victory at the battle of Trafalgar in 1805.

Set high atop Portsdown Hill, overlooking Portsmouth, Nelson’s Monument was erected in 1807 from funds contributed by his own crew. Fort Nelson was completed in 1871 and named after the monument.

The evening will begin with a special gun-firing by a uniformed gun crew from Ubique Right of the Line. This will be followed by supper in our below decks themed visitor centre. Throughout the evening guests will be entertained with sea-shanties. The celebrations will end with a toast and final gun salute in honour of the great man.
