THE KNIGHT’S APPRENTICE HORSE SHOW

Saturday 8 April – Sunday 9 April

Join us for thrills and spills in the arena as three courageous trainee knights pit themselves against each other in a variety of skills tests for the honour of taking part in the Easter Tournament.

KNIGHT SCHOOL

Saturday 8 – Sunday 23 April (except 14 – 17 April)

Calling all budding knights – charge down to the museum this Easter and enrol in our Knight School!

Our experienced squires will train you in some of the skills needed to become a fully-fledged knight. Have a go at archery, sword combat and jousting.

Suitable for ages 5 – 11 this fun-packed activity session is designed to introduce young historians to the world of medieval knights and the tournament. Child-friendly props and ‘weapons’ will be provided.

Participants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, who can watch from the seated spectator gallery.

Sessions: 11am & 1.30pm
Duration: 60 minutes
Dates: 8 – 23 April (except Tournament weekend 14 – 17 April)
Price: £3.50 per trainee knight

Dress: Feel free to dress up in your own armour or knight clothes!

The Royal Armouries Museum offers a unique experience for visitors – bird of prey flying displays in the heart of the city of Leeds.

Watch majestic hunting birds soaring high above the arena, wheeling through the air then swooping down onto their prey. A variety of birds will be flown by the experts from SMJ Falconry, who will describe the action as it happens.

After the display, there will be the opportunity to get closer to the birds and handle them under supervision. Don’t forget your cameras!

MEDIEVAL DANCE WORKSHOP
