2020 marks the 500th anniversary of The Field of Cloth of Gold – the most spectacular tournament ever held. As guardian of some of Henry VIII’s most magnificent armours and the home of international jousting the Royal Armouries in Leeds is marking the anniversary with a special tournament over the May bank holiday weekend (23 – 25 May 2020).

Our purpose-built tiltyard will resound to the clash of metal on armour and the thunder of hooves as internationally renowned jousters battle for coveted trophies, glory and honour.

The kings and their royal courts will be in attendance, and the museum bedecked in Tudor splendour.
