The Deadly 88: Design, deployment and demise

Royal Armouries Curator Phil Magrath will examine the origins of this weapon, its development and use not only in its anti-aircraft role but also as an anti-tank gun and in support of the infantry. The talk also compares the ‘88’ with the British 3.7-inch gun and attempt to establish why it was so successful and so feared.

Tickets cost £5 and include light refreshments.
