Make this half term go with a bang! It’s all about gunpowder, castles and siege warfare. Have a go shooting siege machines, experience artillery in action and join in some explosive science workshops.

There will be a packed programme of exciting themed activities, demonstrations and performances every day – please see the What’s On today pages of the website for the full daily programme.

Dr Cranium’s Science Lab

Dr Cranium, Professor of Explodology at the University of Life, will be demonstrating some of his most exciting science experiments – be ready for lots of noise, smells and bangs.
Sessions at 12noon and 2.30pm

Bottle rocket range

Launch your own bottle rocket to see how far it can fly in this fun have-a-go activity
Sessions at 10.30am, 1pm & 3.30pm

Have-a-go siege artillery

Get your hands on history and discover how medieval siege artillery worked. Test your sharp-shooting skills on mini versions of ballistas, catapults, trebuchets and repeating crossbows.
11am – 4pm in the outdoor arena

Daily craft activities

Cardboard castles & forts

Create a castle, fashion a fort or just have some fun building.
Drop-in between 10am – 4pm
