Live combat demonstrations in our Tournament gallery

Join our resident knights and men-at-arms for regular combat demonstrations throughout the day.

See swords being wielded and armour being masqueraded as our costumed characters bring history to life for visitors of all ages.

Discover what it would have been like to be a knight in the court of King Henry VIII at the Field of Cloth of Gold – one of the most amazing political and sporting events ever staged. Plus find out how armour was made by highly-skilled Tudor craftsmen and the training needed to wear it.

Watch live combat in action, with social distancing and COVID-19 safety measures in place.

These family-friendly demonstrations take place in our Tournament gallery at regular intervals. Ask our staff when you arrive to get the latest information.

Plus – don’t forget to get your picture with one of our costumed characters. They love being tagged on social media, which is surely the modern-day equivalent of the medieval parade! Here are the links to our Twitter profile, Facebook page or Instagram profile.

Find out more about the Tournament gallery and our collection of fearsome weapons and special armours used in the famous extreme sporting events of the past.
