Napoleonic Weekend - Monday, 22 March 2010
Date: Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 March 2010
Location: Leeds
Charge down to the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds on Saturday 27 & Sunday 28 March and witness history brought to life. This special themed event features some of the most exciting stories from the era of Napoleon, the Peninsular War and fictional book/TV character Sharpe.
Calling swabs of all ages! Scrub the decks and stand by ya’ beds! Join the Press Gangs and see what life was like in the Royal Navy 200 years ago.
There will be spectacular living history displays by the 33rd and 68th Rifles re-enactment groups. The Sharpe Appreciation Society will be joining us along with Jason Salkey, aka Rifleman Harris, one of Sharpe’s chosen men from the well-loved series.
Join us for a fun and informative guided tour of the Museum at Clarence Dock, get up close to contemporary artefacts in our special handling sessions and experience explosive live cannon firings.
This event is just one of the Royal Armouries themed weekends will hold this year and follows on from the Dragons’ Den weekend in January and Spies and Secret Agents half-term activities last month.
