Appointment of interim CEO at Royal Armouries - Monday, 3 September 2012

Royal Armouries’ Finance Director Chris Walker has been appointed as interim CEO and Accounting Officer and took up his new post on August 24.

Chris replaces Andrew Scott CBE CEng FMA, who has held the post since the Director General and Master of the Royal Armouries, Lt-Gen Jonathon Riley, was placed under temporary suspension, pending the outcome of a review of issues raised by our auditors. The Royal Armouries is unable to make any further comment regarding these issues at this time.

A former pupil at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in Wakefield, Chris’s previous posts include working as Finance Director at UK Sport and eight years at the National Theatre and Arts Council.

Royal Armouries’ Chairman Wes Paul said, “On behalf of Royal Armouries’ Board of Trustees, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Andrew Scott for his hard work and commitment over the past three months and to offer every good wish for the future. I am also grateful to Chris for agreeing to take up his new post and I look forward to developing our working relationship.”
