Henry VIII married his sixth and last wife in 1543 when he was already ill. She assisted him in the final years of his reign, acting as Regent when he was away on campaign in France and supervising the education of his younger children.

After Henry’s death in 1547 Catherine married Thomas Seymour but in 1548 she died after giving birth to a daughter.
