As it seemed unlikely that Queen Katherine would give him the male heir he wanted, King Henry married Anne Boleyn in 1533. She gave birth to a daughter, Princess Elizabeth, later that year.

In 1536 Anne was investigated for high treason, sent to the Tower of London and executed there.
