Key Stage 1: History
Florence Nightingale
This popular workshop offers a fast-paced and interactive look at the life of Florence Nightingale.
Her skill and organisation during the Crimean war led to important changes in military medical practice (and ultimately civilian medical practice) and helped to save a great many lives.
The hospital, dispensary and facilities at Fort Nelson were designed using her specifications, making our Victorian fort a highly appropriate site to learn about the ‘Lady with the Lamp’.
