What you can see and do today…
See our original 1805 dated Trafalgar gun firing from a recreated gun deck of HMS Victory at 11am, 1pm & 3pm. Plus press gangs, cutlass displays and musket firings demonstrating the weapons used by Nelson’s Navy to fight pirates, Frenchmen and all the King’s enemies on the high seas!
Pirate Puppets, Boat Battle & Cutlass Combat!
See our piratical Punch and Judy show (11.30am & 3.30pm) – fun for young and old alike! Also a genuine pirate battle at 2pm as model ships blast each other to smithereens in a furious firework fusillade! Plus, at 2.30pm, have a go at fighting with safe cutlasses!
Treasure Chest Race
All day, race across a desert island obstacle course to get to the buried treasure – golden chocolate doubloons await all salty sea dogs who take part!
Get busy with paper, card and scissors and make yourself a pirate hat, parrot and cutlass to take home. Sessions are free and run from 10.30 – 12.30 and 2 – 4pm.
Children’s Alphabet Trail
Explore the fort – can you find all 26 letters? Collect a free activity sheet from the Information Point and follow the instructions – it’s a great way to see the fort!
